A golfing event will be held in Namibia over the coming days that will bring together sporting representatives from all over Africa.
The fourth biennial All Africa Amateur Championships will get underway at the Roessmund Golf Club in Swakopmund this week and is set to be the biggest ever.
Nations including Egypt, Lesotho, Ivory Coast and Mauritius are all making their debut in the competition this year, the Namibian reports.
Gert Cloete, president of the Africa Golf Confederation, said: "This will
be the largest field to compete in the history of the tournament and we are pleased to welcome newcomers Egypt, Lesotho, Ivory Coast and Mauritius."
Namibia is one of the top destinations for people enjoying golf holidays in southern Africa and the Roessmund club is home to one of the top 20 courses in the region.
Fourteen four-man teams will compete in the competition and the prize-giving ceremony will take place on the evening of October 31st.
