Sports fans on South Africa holidays this year will have plenty to keep them entertained as the country looks forward to a packed sporting calendar.
There will be a number of strong challenges for the national sides competing in the 'big three' sports cricket, rugby and football according to SouthAfrica.info.
The domestic rugby season kicks off in February, with last year's beaten finalists, the Sharks, the first of the sides in action as they host the Western Force at Durban's Absa stadium on February 15th.
South Africa's Super 14 tournament will run until May 31st, to be followed a week later by the first of two tests between the national rugby side and Wales.
People on South Africa holidays in the summer will be able to see the Springboks facing matches against the All Blacks in Cape Town and Australia in Durban and Johannesburg.
The country's cricket side started 2008 with a home series against the West Indies but will face tough trips to India, England and Australia later this year.
As the South African football side, also known as Bafana Bafana, contest the African Cup of Nations in Ghana this month, the focus at home will be on the Five Nations Hockey Festival, which will be held in Potchefstroom between January 20th and 27th.
