Pretoria will be developed to become a globally competitive tourism destination according to the Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality.
The city is located in the northern part of Gauteng Province, South Africa and is one of the country's three capital cities, with Cape Town and Bloemfontein the other two capitals.
The fifth annual Tshwane Tourism Awards will be held Friday to acknowledge, reward and promote service excellence in the tourism industry and will be held Friday at the Reserve Bank Conference Centre.
Another project under the Tourism Development Strategy is to develop the Dinokeng Game Reserve, situated 30 minutes outside Pretoria and was created especially for tourists.
Pretoria lies in a warm, well-sheltered and fertile valley and is surrounded by the hills of the Magaliesberg range and has about one million people. English is one of four languages spoken there along with Tswana, Afrikaans and Ndebele.
