Some daredevil tourists have been showing how to take full advantage of a holiday to Zambia by swimming in a pool located on the precipice of the 110-metre-high Victoria Falls.
The extreme activity has proven popular with thrill-seekers who visit during the dry season, when the waters of the Zambezi river flow slowly enough to allow people to enter the pool.
Tourists who enter the so-called Devil's Pool are also protected by a natural wall of rock that stops people from being swept off the edge.
Local guides have been providing tours for people who want to visit the pool, but the trip to the lofty location is dangerous in itself, with slippery surfaces and fast-flowing water meaning that visitors have to tread carefully.
The journey is worth it, according to American tourist Francisc Stugren, who described a swim in the Devil's Pool as "a serious adrenaline rush".
Holidays to Victoria Falls are a popular option among visitors to southern Africa, with the waterfall system located on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
In local languages the falls are known as Mosioa-Tunya, or 'the smoke that thunders'.
