A new park development in Johannesburg that undertook the challenge of being completed in 24 hours was close to its goal on the morning of May 9th, according to reports.
Workers toiled throughout the night to meet the deadline for the Diepkloof XtremePark, according to the Johannesburg City Council website.
After 14 hours of work, the development was 70 per cent complete, according to Johannesburg City Parks managing director Luther Williamson.
Speaking on the morning of May 9th, Mr Williamson said: "The basketball court, the two fountains and the heritage site are almost complete.
"Our guys have been working very hard during the cold night. They did a good job."
A large TV screen, one of the main features of the park, is set to be fully operational in time to screen the football match between the Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates on May 10th.
The idea to develop the park was a spin-off from the Extreme Homemaker television series.
