People on Botswana safari holidays have been offered a new accommodation option following the opening of a new lodge.
Tuli Safari Lodge announced the official opening of Molema, a new community-based self-catering and camping site in the Tuli Block, on May 5th.
The new accommodation option will be open for bookings from July 1st.
Molema is a joint venture, involving the local villages of Mothlabaneng, Lentswe Le Moriti and Mathathane, and is being promoted as a responsible tourism hub.
It is hoped that the site could help local communities participate and gain a benefit from tourism.
Chris Butterfield, a Tuli Safari Lodge shareholder, said "Molema is a responsible tourism project involving public sector land, local communities and private sector investment.
"It is an ideal opportunity to demonstrate that we have all embraced the message of Botswanas new president Seretse Khama Ian Khama when he said: 'we have to create an enabling environment for the private sector to encourage it to become the driving force and main investor in the countrys economy'."
