Holidaymakers on British lions package trips to South Africa next year could see Ospreys players Gavin Henson and Mike Phillips in action as the pair have both undergone successful operations.
The Welsh players, both of whom play their club rugby with Ospreys, missed Wales' recent tour of South Africa as a result of their respective injuries.
Earlier this year, Henson underwent surgery on damaged ankle ligaments while Phillips had an operation on the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and both are now on the road to recovery.
They should be fit in time to make a bid for Lions selection by playing in Wales' internationals against South Africa in November, according to the Lions Rugby website.
Ospreys physio Chris Towers said that Phillips is three months into a six-month rehabilitation programme, while Henson is still in a plaster that is due to be removed soon.
"Gavin is still in a walking plaster, which is scheduled to come off on July 10th," he said.
"Once it has been removed then we'll be looking at working closely with him to get [his ankle] functioning properly."
Henson and Phillips could be among many Welsh players that people on British lions package trips to South Africa will see next year, along with the likes of Shane Williams, Dwayne Peel and James Hook.
