South African parks operating company SanParks has claimed that visitor safety has been placed at the "top of the agenda" for the Table Mountain National Park.
This week saw park managers reveal a strategy set to be implemented on the first day of South African spring, September 1st, which will combine professional park visitor safety with the work of the South African Police Service.
Brett Myrdal, manager of the Table Mountain park, said the strategy was motivated by the success of earlier initiatives.
One of the aspects of the project will see the park continue to commit a dedicated ranger team of around 52 staff members, which collectively puts in more than 10,000 man hours per month.
South Africa boasts a number of outdoor areas that are popular among holidaymakers, one of the most prominent of which is Table Mountain.
People on honeymoons in South Africa who visit the national park can enjoy stunning views of the Table Mountain chain, stretching from Signal Hill in the north to Cape Point in the south.
