The Good Food and Wine Show is going green in 2009 with a
focus on healthier eating habits and greener cooking options. The show is held
on 28 – 30 May 2009 at the Cape Town International Convention Center.
The spotlight will be on a South African institution “the braai” (more commonly
known around the world as the barbecue) with an environmental twist as built in
gas cookers are showcased as a “quick, clean and convenient cooking solution”.
Getting back to basics attendees can learn how to create healthy and easy to
cook meals using home grown fruit and vegetables. Local top wines and organic
produce including tea, coffee and chocolate will be available to purchase.
The show is popular with locals and tourists alike as visitors on Cape Town
holidays take time out from sightseeing to experience South African food and
wine culture firsthand.
The Food and Wine Show also has stops scheduled in Durban on 23 – 26 July 2009
and Johannesburg on 29 October – 1 November 2009.
