The Out of Africa Culture Festival promises to be a
“celebration of African culture and heritage” for a unique cultural experience
of Africa for tourists on Johannesburg holidays. The festival taking place at
this waterfront location of The Brightwater Commons, Randburg from 25 – 26 July
2009 will allow participants to “experience the richness and diversity of
African culture through a variety of exhibitions and vibrant entertainment”.
A full program of events, starting at 11:00 each day, will bring a taste of
Africa to festival goers – both locals and overseas visitors on Johannesburg
holdays. Planned events include a fashion show of African tradition inspired
fashions, performances of the two woman show !Bushwomen providing a “glimpse
into the creative soul of Africa”, the African Tribal Show representing
different forms of traditional dance and even the inclusion of Africa’s
favourite sport with three-a-side soccer matches. Shopping opportunities also
abound with stands selling traditional African masks, woven baskets and other
African artwork.
