Check in and relax in this beautiful city under warm blue South African skies.
Day 2
This morning transfer from your hotel to arrive at Pretoria Station in good time to board the luxurious Blue Train, departing 08h50 for Cape Town. Luxury takes on a new dimension, as you relax and settle in to your elegant suite and enjoy the personal attention and devotion to detail for which the Blue Train is renowned.

Enjoy the fine wines and cuisine of the region, as well as outstanding personal service, during your 27-hour journey to Cape Town, travelling over 1,000 miles through some of South Africa’s most diverse and spectacular scenery

At Kimberley passengers have the opportunity of disembarking to visit the famous Big Hole and Diamond Mine Museum. With a surface area of over 40 acres and a perimeter of over 1 mile, this open-pit area was mined to a depth of over 3,000 feet at the height of the diamond rush – the largest hand-dug excavation in the world. At the museum view Eureka, the first recorded diamond discovered in South Africa. Continue overnight through De Aar and Beauford West in the Great Karoo.

Dress code on the train during the day is smart casual, with comfortable walking shoes for the off-train excursion. Evenings are generally more formal, with most guests enjoying the opportunity to dress up in cocktail or evening wear, including compulsory jacket & tie for men.
Day 3
Awake this morning to the beauty of the Western Cape, as you travel through the Hex River Valley, Touws River, De Doorns and Worcester. Enjoy a superb breakfast whilst travelling through spectacular mountain scenery, as you approach the beautiful Cape Winelands.

View imposing Table Mountain as you arrive at Cape Town Station around midday. Transfer to your hotel in this beautiful city, with balance of day at leisure.

Please note: accessibility on the Blue Train is extremely limited and suitable only if you can walk a few steps. There is no ramp access (you are lifted onto the train) and you can only use the train's very narrow wheelchair in the aisle. There are no grab handles in the en suite bathroom.

Day 4
Today your host will collect you for a full day tour of Cape Town.

Weather permitting, we start by ascending Table Mountain by cable car, to enjoy one of the world’s most famous views, before a short tour of the "Mother City" to view sites of historical and architectural interest.

We continue to the fishing village of Hout Bay for a short boat trip to view Cape Fur seals at Seal Island (you will be lifted onto the boat in your wheelchair - not possible for heavy or power chairs).

We complete our day with a visit to beautiful Kirstenbosch Gardens, which is world renowned for its wide diversity of fynbos and protea, before returning to your hotel.
Day 5
Today enjoy a full day tour to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.

Enjoy wonderful ocean views, as we drive around the Cape Peninsula from Muizenberg to naval Simonstown, where we stop at Boulders Beach to see the resident penguin colony. We continue to Cape Point where we hope to see ostrich, baboons and perhaps even dolphins or whales in season (August to November).

At Cape Point we take a funicular ride to the Old Lighthouse (wheelchair accessible), before returning to Cape Town via spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive (when open) or the Old Cape Road.
Day 6
Transfer to the Clock Tower on the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront for the ferry to Robben Island, the infamous prison home of Nelson Mandela. The guides are all former prisoners, each able to provide their own personal insight into conditions on the island and a very poignant experience.

Balance of day free to explore the shops and restaurants of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

Note: You will be lifted onto the ferry in your wheelchair - not suitable for heavy or power chairs
