Day 1
You will be met at Johannesburg Airport and transferred to your hotel in Pretoria.
  
Check in and relax in this beautiful city under warm blue South African skies.
Day 2
This morning transfer from your hotel to arrive at Pretoria Station in good time to board the luxurious Blue Train, departing 08h50 for Cape Town. Luxury takes on a new dimension, as you relax and settle in to your elegant suite and enjoy the personal attention and devotion to detail for which the Blue Train is renowned.
 
Enjoy the fine wines and cuisine of the region, as well as outstanding personal service, during your 27-hour journey to Cape Town, travelling over 1,000 miles through some of South Africa’s most diverse and spectacular scenery
 
At Kimberley passengers have the opportunity of disembarking to visit the famous Big Hole and Diamond Mine Museum. With a surface area of over 40 acres and a perimeter of over 1 mile, this open-pit area was mined to a depth of over 3,000 feet at the height of the diamond rush – the largest hand-dug excavation in the world. At the museum view Eureka, the first recorded diamond discovered in South Africa. Continue overnight through De Aar and Beauford West in the Great Karoo.
 
Dress code on the train during the day is smart casual, with comfortable walking shoes for the off-train excursion. Evenings are generally more formal, with most guests enjoying the opportunity to dress up in cocktail or evening wear, including compulsory jacket & tie for men.
Day 3
Awake this morning to the beauty of the Western Cape, as you travel through the Hex River Valley, Touws River, De Doorns and Worcester. Enjoy a superb breakfast whilst travelling through spectacular mountain scenery, as you approach the beautiful Cape Winelands.
 
View imposing Table Mountain as you arrive at Cape Town Station around midday. Transfer to your hotel in this beautiful city, with balance of day at leisure.
Days 4 To 5
At leisure to relax at your hotel in the beautiful Constantia Winelands.
 
If you wish to explore the beautiful city of Cape Town, choose one of the many optional local activities such as the 2-hour Hop Off Bus tour of the city, with the opportunity to ascend Table Mountain by cable car to enjoy one of the world's most famous views!
 
Take a tour to Cape Point; enjoy wine tasting in the Stelleboch Winelands; explore the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront; or take the ferry to Robben Island - the infamous prison home of Nelson Mandela (advance booking essential in season). Alternatively simply relax on golden Camps Bay beach – the choice is yours!
Day 6
Transfer to Cape Town Airport for your onward flight.

You will be met at Mpumalanga Airport and transferred 2-hours to your game lodge in the world famous Kruger National Park.
 
After checking in, enjoy a thrilling game drive in an open-top vehicle accompanied by a lodge ranger. Game viewing opportunities should present themselves almost immediately in this vast wildlife wilderness. Hopefully you will see several species of antelope, zebra, wildebeest and maybe even giraffe - as well as several of the Big Five - before dining under the stars in the atmosphere that only the African bushveld can provide!
Day 7
Rise at dawn to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day, as you enjoy a thrilling open-top game viewing drive with your lodge ranger.
 
Explore the famous Kruger National Park, a vast 2-million hectare game sanctuary the size of Wales which offer magnificent game viewing opportunities and the highest concentration of lion in the whole of Africa. Hope to see several of the Big Five today - Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino - as well as many other species before returning to your lodge for breakfast.
 
The rest of the morning is free to relax by the swimming pool or enjoy bird watching at the lodge, before setting out again in the late afternoon for another game drive. With nearly 150 different species of mammals and over 100 species of reptiles in the Kruger National Park, you can hope to see cheetah, giraffe, hippo, kudu, crocodiles, sable antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, baboons, wild dogs and many other interesting animals. With over 500 different bird species including eagles, kingfishers, vultures and storks, outstanding bird watching is also guaranteed.
  
After a beautiful African sunset, enjoy the balmy evening and pristine stars of the Milky Way as you have never seen them before – as well as the spectacular Southern Cross.

Day 8
Enjoy some final early morning game viewing, before your 2.5-hour transfer to Mpumulanga Airport for your flight home
