Day 1
You will be met at Maun Airport and transferred to your light aircraft flight to Central Kalahari Game Reserve.

The Kalahari Desert is one of the world’s last unspoilt ecosystems and one of Africa’s greatest wilderness areas.  After checking in to your lodge, examine some of the amazing succulent desert plants and game which have adapted to survive in such harsh conditions in this land of far horizons.
Day 2
Today explore the vast Central Kalahari, setting off early each morning to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day. Wildlife is surprisingly plentiful in the semi-desert conditions of these red sand dunes.

Of the many species of mammals and reptiles that have successfully adapted to the harsh desert conditions, the most famous is the black-maned lion. Other predators include leopard, cheetah and hyena. You should also see water independent antelope such as oryx, eland, springbok and blue wildebeest.

The rest of the morning can be spent relaxing at your lodge, reading or bird watching, before setting out again in the late afternoon for another game drive. You can hope to see the brown and spotted hyena, black-backed jackals, the curious meerkats, yellow mongoose, porcupines, honey badgers, bat-eared foxes, Cape foxes, African wild cats and many other interesting animals. Bird life is also prolific (260 different species - including over 20 raptors). In the evening relax and enjoy the wonderfully clear skies of the great Kalahari!

You will see some of Africa’s most unusual animals in the Kalahari and many of the “great cats” – lion, cheetah and leopard - but the vegetation does not support elephants, rhino or buffalo
Day 3
After a final game drive in the Central Kalahari, transfer to the landing strip for your light aircraft flight to your game lodge in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta.

You will be met at the landing strip and transferred to your Okavango Delta game lodge. Settle in and relax in this pristine water wilderness and enjoy more game viewing under spectacular blue African skies before dinner.

Day 4
The seasonal Okavango Delta is flooded annually by the great Okavango River, whose waters flow inland from Angola into the vast Kalahari – never finding the sea, but instead forming a great inland delta whose waters are absorbed by the desert.

Comprising 6,000 square miles of crystal clear channels, serene lagoons and a myriad of islands, the Okavango Delta forms a natural oasis that sustains a vast variety of wildlife and birds of all descriptions. The waters are at their height from July to October, forming an amazing wetlands ecosystem that is one of the greatest natural wonders of the world.

Activities at your lodge centre on game viewing and bird watching, with experienced local guides. These include exploring the delta by mekoro canoe and river craft, as well as guided nature walks on the islands of the delta to track some of the larger species that inhabit this water wilderness - including buffalo, hippo and elephants. Optional angling for tiger fish and wild bream is also available.

In the evening relax around a blazing fire under balmy African skies, whilst exchanging notes about your game sightings!
Day 5
Enjoy a final early morning game activity in the Okavango Delta before breakfast and your light aircraft flight to Savuti.

You will be met at the landing strip and transferred to your Savuti lodge in Botswana’s premier land-based game park, situated on the vast Savuti Plains surrounded by open savannah and camelthorn trees. After settling in, enjoy an afternoon game drive with your ranger to view elephants and other wildlife.
Day 6
The Savuti Plains offer world-acclaimed game viewing – including the famous Savute lion prides, leopard, wild dogs, bull elephants, black-backed jackal, bat-eared foxes, hyena, cheetah, tsessebe, kudu, impala, ostrich and much more.

The summer rains bring a feast for lion, hyena and cheetah, as migrating zebra and wildebeest assemble in a chaotic pattern on the marsh. Cape buffalo herds arrive and migrant birds swell the resident population of over 300 different species, making this a bird watchers delight. Carmine bee-eaters perch on the back of kori bustards, red-crested korhaans plummet from the sky in daring mating displays and marabou stork roost in the trees whilst woodland kingfishers sing you to sleep.

Game drives are conducted twice a day (early morning and late afternoon) in open-top safari vehicles. Each evening enjoy Savuti’s enchanting sunsets, before dining overlooking the waterhole.
Day 7
After some final game viewing on the Savuti Plains, transfer to the landing strip for your 30-min light aircraft flight to Kasane Airport. After completing immigration formalities, continue by light aircraft to Livingstone in Zambia.

Check into your hotel on the banks of the Zambezi River near the mighty Victoria Falls. Settle in and relax whilst you catch your first glimpses of the magnificent Smoke That Thunders first discovered by Dr. David Livingstone and still one of the greatest natural wonders of the world. The flow of water over the Victoria Falls is greatest during the wet months (February to June) and are a magnificent sight.

Day 8
At leisure to relax on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River.

You will have the oppportunity of exploring the mighty Victoria Falls, offering magnificent views, as well as a Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi River to see hippos, crocodiles and the abundant bird life.

There are also many optional activities available - such as a helicopter flight over the falls, an elephant-back safari and many adventure activities (such as canoeing in the gentler rapids above the falls, abseiling or white water rafting in the turbulent gorge below the falls (grade 5), or bungi jumping from Victoria Falls Bridge)!  Alternatively simply relax by the swimming pool and enjoy the facilities of your lodge.
Day 9
Transfer to Livingstone Airport for your flight home.
