Day 1
You will be met at Richards Bay Airport and transferred 2.5-hours to your Pongola lodge in remote and beautiful northern Zululand.

Check in and enjoy the beauty and spectacular wildlife of KwaZulu Natal.
Day 2
Today transfer to your luxury House Boat moored on Lake Jozini.

After boarding at 14h00, settle-in and relax as you cruise through Pongola Game Reserve to your evening anchorage point. Your luxury house boat has twin cabins en-suite, a sundeck with jacuzzi, lounge, restaurant, bar and barbeque area.

Once moored, fishermen can immediately enjoy tiger fishing from the tender boats, whilst non-fishing partners can enjoy sundowners and game viewing from the deck!
Days 3 To 4
Enjoy the very special experience of cruising 20 miles (30 km) down Lake Jozini - one third of which is through a gorge in the Lebombo Mountains - whilst viewing game and birds.

This holiday is favoured by fishermen wanting to catch ferocious tiger fish, legendary fighters with extraordinarily large tails and specialised bone structure, which allows them to accelerate like a rocket and hit your bait like no other fish their size. Their teeth are formidable and they prey on other fish up to 40% of their own weight. They grow up to 16 lbs but even at 4 lbs they fight like champions. Tiger fish are more active in the warmer months (September to February).

A House Boat holiday is also ideal for bird watching (over 350 species) and game viewing in the most relaxed way possible, as Pongola Game Reserve is home to elephants, rhino and numerous other species. Each evening relax with sundowners on the deck and watch the sunset surrounded by hippos, crocodiles and the abundant bird life.

Live bait can be purchased on the House Boat by prior arrangement
Day 5
Today transfer for 3-hours through rural Zululand to the remote Sodwana Bay Marine National Park in the St Lucia Wetlands, recognised for its importance in marine conservation as a World Heritage site.

Sodwana Bay is South Africa’s premier deep sea fishing and scuba diving location, with easy access to the warm Mozambique Reef. Check in to your lodge, comprising simple but comfortable log cabins situated in indigenous coastal forest near the beach, and relax in your remote surroundings where monkeys and antelope roam free.
Days 6 To 7
Rise early this morning for a full day of Deep Sea Game Fishing off the warm Mozambique Reef, the southern-most coral reef in the world. Start with an exciting launch from the beach at around 06h00 on your 7-metre boat, which is fully equipped for marlin and game fishing and registered for up to 5 anglers and your skipper.

The diversity of fish & invertebrates found on the Mozambique Reef makes Sodwana Bay one of South Africa's prime angling destinations - with black marlin, blue marlin, stripe marlin and sailfish regularly caught here. Many other combative game fish such as barracuda and kingfish also frequent these warm waters. Dolphins are regularly seen, as well as migrating humpback whales from April to July.

All tackle and bait will be provided by your skipper, who will make recommendations based on local conditions. After a thrilling 8 hours at sea, relax by the swimming pool or walk along the beach surrounded by the highest naturally vegetated sand dunes in the world.

Marlin – best from November to May
Dorado – best from November to March
Sailfish, king mackerel, yellowfin tuna and other game species – all year round

Day 8
Transfer 2.5-hours to Richards Bay Airport for your flight home.

Remember that it is essential that you do not fly within 24 hours of your last dive
