This 4* escorted small group tour of South Africa travels from Johannesburg to Cape Town, via the Drakensberg Panorama Route and Kruger National Park, continuing through Swaziland & Zululand to Durban. Fly to Port Elizabeth and continue along the scenic Garden Route to Cape Town. Scheduled departures every Monday. Tour available in both directions.

Day 1
You will be met at Johannesburg Airport and transferred to your hotel, where you can check in and relax under warm blue South African skies.
 
In the afternoon enjoy a half-day Johannesburg City Tour including the historical downtown buildings, the Brixton Tower, the affluent suburb of Houghton, Nelson Mandela Bridge in Newtown and Constitution Hill - now home of the Constitutional Court, but formerly the site of the notorious Old Fort Prison.
Day 2
This morning we explore the breathtaking Panorama Route - including Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God's Window, Three Rondawels and the green Blyde River Canyon.
 
We continue to our Private Game Reserve. After checking into our lodge, enjoy a thrilling evening game drive in an open-top game viewing vehicle accompanied by a lodge ranger. Game viewing opportunities should present themselves almost immediately and hopefully you will see several species of antelope, zebra, wildebeest and maybe even giraffe - as well as several of the Big Five today. Then dine at our lodge in the atmosphere that only the African bushveld can provide!
Day 3
Enjoy an early morning bush walk or game drive at your Private Game Reserve, before we set out to explore the breathtaking Panorama Route - including Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God's Window, Three Rondawels and the green Blyde River Canyon.
 
We continue to our hotel near Hazyview, arriving in the late afternoon.
Day 4
An early start today as we enter the world famous Kruger National Park, unrivalled for its diversity of flora, fauna and bird life. After searching for the Big-Five, we leave the park and travel to the mountainous Kingdom of Swaziland.
 
We visit the Ngwenya Glass Factory before checking into our Swaziland hotel in the late afternoon.
Day 5
This morning experience the rich cultural heritage of Swaziland as we interact with the local people of this vibrant community (weather depending).
 
We continue southwards for 4-hours through the mountains of Swaziland to Hluhluwe in northern Zululand. Check into your lodge situated near the gate to Hluhluwe National Park and relax in this outstanding wildlife area.
Day 6
After breakfast we travel through the famous Hluhluwe Game Reserve in our closed vehicle for more game viewing, before continuing to the St Lucia Isimangaliso Wetlands, an area that has been declared a World Heritage site because of its unique biodiversity and importance to marine conservation. Enjoy a river cruise on the estuary where you may see pelicans, fish eagles, hippos and crocodiles. With over 500 different bird species in the region, it also offers outstanding bird watching.
  
We travel through the sugar cane plantations of the Indian Ocean seaboard, with late afternoon drop off at your hotel on the North Coast of KwaZulu Natal near Durban, renowned for its wonderful Indian Ocean beaches and reliably warm holiday weather all year round.
Day 7
Transfer 30-minutes to Durban Airport for your onward flight.

You will be met at Port Elizabeth Airport and transferred to your beachfront hotel. Check into your hotel overlooking the wonderful beaches of this friendly city.
Day 8
Today we travel 3-hours from Port Elizabeth to Knysna on the scenic Garden Route.
 
We visit the Big Tree in the Tsitsikamma Forest and take a short walk to the scenic Storms River Mouth to enjoy the scenery from the suspension bridge, where photographic opportunities abound.   
 
We arrive in the oyster capital of Knysna in the late afternoon and check into our hotel in this area of great natural beauty.
Day 9
We start today with a scenic drive through Wilderness, Dolphin Point and George, and enjoy stunning views from the Outeniqua Pass as we travel to Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo.
 
We visit an Ostrich Farm where we learn some fun facts about these strange flightless birds and their magnificent plumage. After lunch (not included) we visit the world famous Cango Caves for a guided tour of its ancient stalagmites and stalactites. Time permitting, an optional tour of the Crocodile & Cheetah is also available.
Day 10
This morning we leave the Little Karoo and travel through the towns of Calitzdorp and Barrydale, where the true diversity of landscape is highlighted through the ever-changing semi desert scenery. We traverse the famous Route 62, passing through the small towns of Montagu, Robertson and Worcester.
 
Enjoy your first glimpse of Table Mountain from the top of Du Toit’s Kloof Pass and check into your hotel in Cape Town.
Day 11
This morning you will be collected from your hotel around 08h00 for a full day Cape Highlights tour. We travel via Camps Bay, Hout Bay and Chapman’s Peak Drive (when open) to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. After enjoying stunning views from the highest point, we return via Simonstown and Muizenberg.
 
After lunch (own account) we continue to the Cape Winelands where we sample some of South Africa’s fine wines at a local Wine Estate. We travel through the historic university town of Stellenbosch, before returning to Cape Town in the early evening.
Day 12
Transfer to Cape Town Airport for your flight home.
