Day 1
Arrive at Johannesburg Airport, collect your hire car and drive 5-hours through the farmlands of Mpumalanga to Swaziland (now called Eswatini), a small mountain kingdom known for its lovely scenery, crafts and indigenous culture.
 
After completing border formalities, continue travelling through beautiful mountains and gorges to your lodge.
 
Note: You will need your passport to enter Swaziland (and possibly a visa).
Day 2
This morning we suggest visiting a Swazi Cultural Village to learn more about their local customs, colourful beadwork, basket weaving and other handcrafts (pay entrance fee locally).
 
Afterwards you can visit Ngwenya Glassworks, where you can watch craftsmen at work. You can also stop at local roadside market.
 
The rest of your day is free to relax at your hotel and enjoy the beauty of Swaziland.
Day 3
At leisure to explore more of Swaziland, or simply relax at your lodge and enjoy the surroundings mountains.
Day 4
Today drive 3-hours through the mountains of Swaziland to your lodge situated near the entrance to the world famous Kruger National Park.
 
Check into your lodge, settle in and relax in the atmosphere that only the African bushveld can provide.
Day 5
Today is devoted to self drive game viewing in the Kruger National Park (pay entrance fee locally). We recommend setting off early each morning as the camp gates open after sunrise, to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day.
 
Explore the famous Kruger National Park, which offer magnificent game viewing opportunities and the highest concentration of lion in the whole of Africa. Hope to see several of the Big Five - Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino - as well as many other species.
 
With nearly 150 different species of mammals and over 100 species of reptiles in the Kruger National Park, you can hope to see cheetah, giraffe, hippo, kudu, crocodiles, sable antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, baboons, wild dogs and many other interesting animals. With over 500 different bird species including eagles, kingfishers, vultures and storks, outstanding bird watching is also guaranteed.
  
Return to your lodge in the late afternoon and after a beautiful African sunset, enjoy the balmy evening and pristine stars of the Milky Way as you have never seen them before – as well as the spectacular Southern Cross.
 
Note: You will need your passport to enter Kruger Park. Vehicles are not allowed to drive off-road in any national park in South Africa.
Day 6
Today drive 2-hours from Kruger National Park to the Mozambique border, where you can expect customs delays, before continuing another 2-hours to Maputo.
 
Check into your hotel and enjoy the warm subtropical climate of this coastal capital city.
Day 7
This morning drive 4-hours from Maputo to the small village of Chidenguele.
 
Enjoy travelling through local villages in the Xai-Xai district, before reaching your lodge located close to the Mozambican coast.
Day 8
At leisure to relax at your lodge in rural Chidenguele.
 
At nearby Chidenguele Beach you can snorkel in the warm clear waters of the Indian Ocean and enjoy superb fishing and diving. You can also participate in canoeing, wind surfing, kite surfing and sailing.
Day 9
Today drive northward from Chidenguele, travelling 3.5-hours to Inhambane.
 
Check into your lodge near Tofo Beach on the shores of the warm Indian Ocean. Settle in and relax on this pristine beach in subtropical surroundings.
Day 10
At leisure to swim, snorkel and dive in the warm blue waters of the Indian Ocean at Tofo Beach.
 
Optional activities vary by lodge but can include windsurfing, kite flying, ocean ski paddling and catamaran sailing. You can also take long walks along the beach and enjoy the prolific birdlife, with over 100 different species including flamingos and pelicans.
 
Scuba divers can explore the pristine Mozambique Reef, famous for encounters with enormous whale sharks, reef and giant mantas. These huge marine mammals are present throughout the year, but are seen most often between September and February, when they gather here in profusion to breed.
 
Fishermen can try their hand at exhilarating deep sea game fishing, in waters considered to be the best for marlin in the world. The best months for black, blue and striped marlin are between October and January, whilst the sailfish season runs from June to August. These warm waters also abound with king mackerel (barracuda), dorado, wahoo, kingfish, bonito and yellow-fin tuna.
Day 11
This morning we suggest you make a stop in Inhambane to explore the market and historic streets of this former slave trading port.
 
Afterwards continue to follow the Indian Ocean coastline northwards for 5-hours to Vilanculos - the gateway to the spectacular Bazaruto Archipelago.
 
Check into your hotel overlooking the warm Indian Ocean and relax in your warm tropical surroundings. Enjoy the vast unspoilt beaches, fringed by palm trees.
Days 12 To 13
At leisure to relax at your lodge on the shores of the sparkling turquoise Indian Ocean, overlooking a pristine white sandy beach that stretches for miles and miles.
 
Activities vary by lodge but usually include windsurfing, kite flying, ocean ski paddling, horse riding and catamaran sailing. Jet skiing is available near some lodges and scuba diving, island snorkelling trips and deep sea game fishing, in waters considered to be the best for marlin in the world, can also be arranged.
 
You can watch fishermen bringing in their catch, see migrating humpback whales and turtles in season and take a local tuk-tuk to visit the small fishing town of Vilanculos. As Mozambican seafood is delicious, this is the place to indulge in delicious lobster, crab, game fish and garlic (or peri-peri) prawns.
 
Day 14
This morning we suggest setting off early by motor boat (around 08.00) on a snorkelling excursion to Two Mile Reef, situated in the channel between spectacular Bazaruto and Benguerra islands.
 
Afterwards enjoy an unforgettable beach barbeque on Bazaruto island, followed by a walk up the pristine sand dunes of neighbouring Benguerra Island, before returning by boat to Vilanculos around 16.45.
Day 15
Drive to Vilanculos Airport for your flight home.
