Day 1
You will be met at Richards Bay Airport by your guide and introduced to the beauty of KwaZulu Natal on your 1.5-hour transfer to Hluhluwe National Park in Zululand, renowned for its outstanding wildlife.

Check into your rest camp, where game viewing opportunities should present themselves almost immediately in this famous game sanctuary. Hopefully you will see several species of antelope, zebra, wildebeest and maybe even giraffe, or one of the Big Five, before reaching your rest camp.
Days 2 To 3
Today is devoted to wildlife photography in Hluhluwe National Park with your own private driver/guide, who is an award-winning photographer and will share tips to improve your skills. You can discuss preferred routings and travelling times with him each day, but we recommend setting off early each morning as the camp gates open (05h30 to 06h00 depending on the season), to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day.

One of South Africa’s most beautiful game parks, Hluhluwe is home to all the Big 5 - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino - as well as the subcontinent’s largest population of endangered rhino, which this park saved from extinction. Also hope to see giraffe, hippo, kudu, crocodiles, waterbuck, warthogs, baboons and many other interesting animals. With over 300 different bird species, outstanding bird watching is also guaranteed.

You can spend the full day on the road, or return to your rest camp for breakfast and some relaxation, before setting out again at the time of your choice (usually the late afternoon) for another game drive. Apart from one open top game drive in a Hluhluwe Park vehicle on the evening of your arrival, all game drives will be taken with your host in his air-conditioned vehicle, with bean bags available on request.

After a beautiful African sunset, enjoy the balmy evening and pristine stars of the Milky Way as you have never seen them before – as well as the spectacular Southern Cross.
Day 4
After some final game viewing in Hluhluwe National Park with your guide, today enjoy a boat ride on Lake St Lucia estuary where we hope to see hippos and crocodiles.

Forming part of St Lucia Isimangaliso Wetlands, this area has been declared a World Heritage Site because of its unique biodiversity and importance to marine conservation. With over 500 different bird species in the region, it also offers outstanding bird watching.

Continue to your hotel on the North Coast of KwaZulu Natal, renowned for its wonderful beaches and reliably warm holiday weather all year round. Check in, settle in and relax on the shores of the warm Indian Ocean.
Day 5
Today we recommend an optional Durban City tour, including the City Hall and Botanical Gardens.

We recommend continuing to uShaka Marine World situated in the old harbour area that is being extensively re-developed. Here you have the opportunity of viewing large indigenous sharks of the Indian Ocean and a wide variety of other marine animals, including the opportunity to interact with dolphins, seals and penguins (pay entrance fee locally).
Days 6 To 7
At leisure to relax on the warm golden beaches of the KwaZulu Natal Durban North Coast.

Many optional activities are available such a Durban City tour, a visit to Ushaka Marine World, or a marine cruise to search for dolphins, turtles, sharks, whales (in season) and other fascinating sea life. Championship golf, horse riding, quad biking and deep sea game fishing is also available.
Day 8
Transfer 30-minutes to Durban Airport for your flight home.
