Day 1
You will be met at East London Airport and transferred to Kei Mouth Country Club on the spectacular Wild Coast, where a light lunch will be served and where you will be able to change into your riding clothes. The aim is to be in the saddle by 3pm to make the pontoon crossing across the Great Kei River.

This afternoon’s ride through to Trennerys is long enough to blow the cobwebs away, as you breathe in the sea air and feel the pounding hooves on wet sand – welcome to the Wild Coast!

Check into your hotel and relax in your warm subtropical surroundings.

Note: If your flight to East London is delayed, you will overnight in Morgan Bay and ride through to Trennerys early the next morning to catch up with the rest of the group
Day 2
After breakfast enjoy a short visit to a local Xhosa Village, for an introduction to the culture and history of the region. Afterwards we explore on horseback the rolling countryside, before an early lunch at Trennerys.

In the afternoon we set off along the spectacular Wild Coast to Wavecrest Hotel. The tide will dictate our pace and path, but along the way you will see the wreck of the Jacaranda. We keep up a steady trot and canter on the rolling cliff top paths until we reach the mouth of the Kobonqaba River. Depending on tides we either cross at the mouth or detour inland, arriving at Wavecrest in the late afternoon. For those wanting  a little pampering, there should be time for a spa treatment or massage.
Day 3
Our departure time this morning will be dictated by the tide, and will either be a full day ride up the beach and back across the rolling hills and traditional villages of the country, or the other way around. Either way you will get to ride on the hard wet beaches of the Wild Coast at low tide – where the gallops are exhilarating!

We can either take a picnic lunch and ride to a secluded beach, or make the same ride slightly shorter and enoy lunch at the hotel - leaving time to explore the stunning mangrove estuary of the Nxaxo River by boat, enjoy a spa treatment or take an hour or so ride through stunning forests. Today's ride is very flexible as there are so many options to experience!
Day 4
This morning we make our way back towards Kei Mouth where rolling hills, villages, deep river gorges and sandy paths meander their way back along the coast.

We arrive at Seagulls Hotel in time for a pub lunch and much needed refreshments! There is a swimming pool here, so it is a good idea to keep your swim suit in your saddle bag today.

After a last ride along the beach, we arrive at the horse paddocks in Kei Mouth at around 4pm and transfer to Morgan Bay for overnight.
Day 5
Transfer to East London Airport for your onward flight.

You will be met at Johannesburg Airport and transferred 3-hours to the scenic Waterberg Mountains, a UNESCO biosphere reserve renowned for its diversity of plant, bird and wildlife.

Check in and relax at your malaria-free riding lodge situated in a private game reserve offering over 20,000 acres of superb riding country with breathtaking views. After an introductory ride in the game reserve, which is likely to include a close encounter with rhino, enjoy dinner in the warm hospitality of the lodge.
Days 6 To 8
Enjoy riding in small groups in the magnificent Waterberg Mountains each day, with outstanding game viewing and endless horizons plus good company, great food and exceptional horses. With a herd of over 40 highly responsive Anglo-Arabs, Thoroughbreds, Boerperds and crossbreeds ranging in size from 14 to 16 hands, the lodge is able to closely match horse to rider capability.

During your stay enjoy riding through beautiful mountains, galloping across open sandy tracks and taking your horse for refreshing swims in the cool waters of one of the many lakes. You can canter for miles looking at the wonder of nature around you, jump natural obstacles and hack through thick woodlands, whilst watching the surrounding game.

Whilst on safari you will have the opportunity of cantering with zebra and giraffe, and “playing” with the springbok.  You will also encounter rhino, hippo, buffalo and possibly leopard as well as eland, sable, ostrich, steenbuck and over 20 other plains species. As there are no lions or elephants in the riding area,  competent riders can enjoy fast and exhilarating rides each day.

Please let us know if you are prepared to share, in which case no single supplement will be charged
Day 9
Transfer 2-hours to Johannesburg Airport for your flight home.
