Today enjoy superb game viewing in the vast and little visited Selous Game Reserve.

Named after the famous hunter and early conservationist, Frederick Courtney Selous, this great game reserve covers an area of over 21,000 square miles (54,000 square km) - making it larger than Switzerland and four times the size of the Serengeti.

As a result, many game species can be found here in greater numbers than in any other game park in Africa - including over 70% of Tanzania's elephants. Hippo, buffalo and crocodiles are abundant and lion, hyena, wild dog and rhino can also be seen. Also gnu, hartebeest, kudu, sable, eland, reedbuck, bushbuck, waterbuck, warthog, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, leopard and cheetah. There are over 350 different bird species too, including the bataleur eagle, and walking safaris are permitted.
Day 4
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Selous before your transfer to your light aircraft flight to remote Ruaha Game Reserve, the second largest wildlife reserve in Tanzania.

Check into your safari lodge in this magnificent wildlife wilderness and enjoy a late afternoon game drive in this pristine reserve.
Days 5 To 6

Ruaha is a permanent hunting ground for lions, jackals, hyenas, cheetah and rare wild dogs which prey on zebras and antelope, with both the stunning roan and sable antelope found here as well as greater and lesser kudu. There are also thousands of elephants and buffalo and vast herds of gazelle, in beautful surroundings.

With over 450 bird species, including Eurasian migrating birds which flock to Ruaha twice a year (March/April and October/November), outstanding bird watching is also guaranteed.
