Day 1
You will be met at Nairobi Airport and transferred to your hotel in this bustling city.

Check in and relax in your warm and friendly African surroundings.
Day 2
Today we depart from Nairobi travelling 3-hours overland in a safari minibus (with pop-up roof for game viewing) to the Lake Nakuru region in the heart of the Great Rift Valley.

A soda lake on the floor of the Rift Valley, at certain times of the year Lake Nakuru is home to millions of flamingos and over 400 different bird species. The sight of these flamingos in flight is quite spectacular and makes the lake appear pink from a distance. The lake is also a haven for certain endangered species including the Rothschild giraffe and black and white rhino.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive at Lake Nakuru, before continuing to your lodge.
Day 3
Today we travel 4-hours to the Masai Mara National Park, named after the Masai people and the Mara River which divides the park.

Masai Mara National Park is famous for its exceptional population of game and the annual migration of zebra and wildebeest from the adjoining Serengeti National Park. This phenomenon occurs every year from July to October, when game migrates along a circular route from the plains of the Serengeti to the Masai Mara and back again in search of fresh pastures, followed by hungry predators - most notably lions and hyena.

After checking in to your lodge, enjoy a late afternoon game drive in this magnificent wildlife sanctuary.
Day 4
Today is dedicated to game viewing on the open plains of the world famous Masai Mara National Park.

Nestled within the enormous Great Rift Valley, Masai Mara National Park is famous for its many prides of lions, packs of hyena and other predators - as well as huge herds of wildebeest, which number over one million, zebra and giraffe. All the Big Five can be seen here, as well as numerous other species including the Thomson's gazelle, topi, kongoni, impala, roan antelope and hippo. The nocturnal bat-eared fox, rarely found elsewhere in Kenya, also inhabits this park as well as the endangered cheetah and black rhino. Bird watching is also excellent with over 450 different species including the vulture, marabou stork, secretary bird, hornbill, crowned crane, ostrich, long-crested eagle and african pygmy-falcon.

Set off early each morning, when game viewing conditions are at their best, to view the abundant wildlife of the Masai Mara region. Return to the lodge to rest in the heat of the day, before setting off again in the late afternoon for another game drive.
Day 5
After an early breakfast, we leave the Masai Mara and drive to the shores of Lake Victoria, crossing into Tanzania at Isebania.

Check into your lodge, settle in and relax in this area of great natural beauty.
Day 6
This morning you will be collected by local fishermen in their canoes, who will take you to meet the people of their village.

In the afternoon we enter the great Serengeti, which means "Endless Plain". A World Heritage site, Serengeti National Park hosts the largest and longest wildlife overland migration in the world as around October each year, nearly 2 million animals travel 500 miles from the northern hills toward the southern plains - crossing the Mara River in pursuit of the rains. In April the animals return to the north, through the west, once again crossing the Mara River in their migration.
Day 7
Today is devoted to game viewing in the great Serengeti National Park.

This vast conservation area, which is larger than Northern Ireland, lies between Lake Victoria in the west, Lake Eyasi in the south and the Great Rift Valley in the east. The landscape varies from open grass plains in the south, savanna with scatterred acacia trees in the centre, hilly wooded grasslands in the north and woodlands and clay pans in the west - with small rivers, lakes ands swamps scattered throughout.

With more than 70 large mammals and over 500 other animal species, including large prides of lions and great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelle, outstanding game viewing is guaranteed on a scale only seen in East Africa. Bird watching is also outstanding.
Day 8
After some final game viewing in Serengeti National Park, we drive to Olduvai Gorge where Louis and Mary Leakey famously discovered the remains of early man.

We continue 3-hours to the Ngorongoro Crater. Stretching across 8,300 sq km, the high altitude malaria-free Ngorongoro Conservation Area boasts a dramatic variety of volcanic landscapes, wildlife, people and archaeology. Its grasslands, waterfalls and mountain forests are home to an abundance of animals and also to the Masai people, and has been declared a World Heritage site. Check into your lodge and enjoy the beauty of this area.
Day 9
Today enjoy a tour into the basin of the Ngorongoro Crater, including game viewing and a picnic lunch on the crater floor.

The Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest intact caldera, forming a spectacular bowl of about 265 square kilometres with sides up to 2,000 feet (600m) deep. Although animals are free to move in and out of this contained environment, the rich volcanic soil, lush forests and spring lakes on the crater floor attract both grazers and predators all year round, with up to 30,000 animals living in the crater - including lions on the open savannah and elephants and monkeys in the forests. You may also see flamingos in the lake area.
Day 10
Transfer 4-hours to Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight home.
