+ Swahili Coasts
Day 1
You will be met at Dar Es Salaam Airport and
transferred to your light aircraft flight to the remote
Selous Game Reserve, the largest wildlife reserve
in Africa.
Check into your safari lodge in this magnificent UNESCO
World Heritage Site, with its amazing diversity of
wildlife and undisturbed nature, before enjoying a late
afternoon game drive.
Day 2
Today
enjoy superb game viewing in the vast and little visited
Selous Game Reserve.
Named after a famous English hunter and early
conservationist, this great game reserve covers an area
of over 21,000 square miles (54,000 square km) and many
game species can be found here in greater numbers than
in any other game park in Africa.
Elephant, hippo, wild dog and crocodiles are abundant,
as well as many other species of wildlife, guaranteeing
superb game viewings. Walking safaris are also permitted
in the Selous Reserve.
Day 3
Enjoy an early morning game drive before your transfer
to your light aircraft flight to the even more remote
Ruaha Game Reserve, the second largest wildlife
reserve in Tanzania.
Check into your safari lodge in this magnificent
wildlife wilderness and enjoy a late afternoon game
drive in this pristine reserve.
Day 4
Today
is devoted to game viewing in the previously
inaccessible Ruaha Game Reserve, the second
largest wildlife reserve in Tanzania.
Ruaha is a permanent hunting ground for lions, jackals,
hyenas, cheetah and rare wild dogs which prey on zebras
and antelope, with both the stunning roan and sable
antelope found here as well as greater and lesser kudu.
There are also thousands of elephants and buffalo and
vast herds of gazelle, in beautiful surroundings.
With over 450 bird species, including Eurasian migrating
birds which flock to Ruaha twice a year (March/April and
October/November), outstanding bird watching is also
guaranteed.
Day 5
Enjoy an early morning game drive before your transfer
to your light aircraft flight to the even more remote
Katavi Game Reserve, the third largest national park
in Tanzania but the least visited, due to its remote
location Check into your safari lodge and enjoy a late
afternoon game drive in this wonderful wildlife
wilderness.
Day 6
Enjoy
abundant game viewing in remote Katavi Game Reserve.
Lake Chada, a seasonal floodplain which lies in the
centre of this vast wildlife sanctuary, is home to vast
pods of hippos as well as huge herds of plains game on a
scale seldom seen elsewhere - including elephants,
zebra, giraffe, buffalo, lion, leopard and hyena.
Bird life is also outstanding - including storks,
pelicans and other water birds - and in the evening
enjoy the pristine night sky, accompanied by the roars
of lions and howling hyena!
Day 7
Enjoy an early morning game drive, before your transfer
to your light aircraft flight to the Swahili Coast.
You will be met at the landing strip and transferred to
your beach hotel, where you can check in and relax on
the shores of the warm Indian Ocean.
Days 8-10

At
leisure to relax on the sunny golden Indian Ocean
beaches of the warm Swahili Coast.
Enjoy lazy days relaxing by the swimming pool or
snorkelling over coral reefs in the sparkling turquoise
waters. Visit local historical sites, explore the
lagoons and mangrove swamps by kayak, or simply unwind
and watch the local fishing fleet bringing in the catch
for dinner each evening!
Day 11
Transfer to the landing strip for your light aircraft
flight to Dar Es Salaam Airport and your flight
home.
