Anjajavy Hotel is set along the Mozambique Channel in an extremely diverse environment where flora and fauna offer a perfect reflection of Malagasy nature. The hotel comprises a complex of rosewood villas facing the sea. The 450-ha nature reserve alongside the hotel is home to over 1,800 floral species, most of which are endemic to Madagascar, as well as many medicinal plants. Each villa features a large terrace overlooking the sea, a living room, breakfast area and bedroom. A small staircase provides access to the first floor which features a relaxation room. Each villa's bathroom boasts a vast bath. Free activities at the hotel include catamaran sailing, snorkelling, kayaking in the sea or among the mangroves, beach volleyball, badminton and billards. As the name implies, “Bushhouse” may be a bit difficult to find, as it can only be reached by boat, helicopter, train or 4×4 wheel drive. The Palmarium is an well run bungalow hotel accessible by boat from either Manambato or Tamatave. There are lemurs that visit the hotel regularly and whilst not entirely tame add a wonderful experience to the visitor. There are 10 different lemur species living here and, although wild, some are very confident and it is a great chance to get close to these creatures, endemic to Madagascar, for some fantastic photo opportunities! The traditional thatched bungalows, made from local wood such as bamboo, are all spacious and comfortable with large double or twin beds draped in mosquito netting, en-suite bathrooms. Bungalows all have private wooden decked terraces with bamboo and fabric chairs, a table and a hammock – a great place to relax in the afternoons.
