Location
Located in Somerset West, Erinvale Golf Course is one of the best courses Western Cape. Spectacular views of the Helderberg and Hottentots Mountains are seen all along the course which act as natural protection from the wind, and views of the beautiful False Bay can also be seen to the east.

Playing the Course
The course itself is a mixture of easy and testing holes. The first nine holes lie in the valley and are relatively easy, whilst the back nine holes are a different story and often ascend steeply over mountainous terrain providing a much greater challenge. Fortunately, electric golf carts are available.

Some of the features and hazards include large bunkers, running creeks, areas of water and excellent greens. Water on three sides, and a bunker on the fourth surround the par-three 7th at the beginning of the wetlands region, to make for some interesting shots!

Pearl Valley Golf Course

18 hole, par 72
Yardage - 6090 (Men), 4703 (Ladies)

Location
A Jack Nicklaus designed course, the Simonsberg and Drakenstein Mountains surround the Pearl Valley Golf Estate and The Berg River water hazard runs right through it!

Playing the Course
76 bunkers have been cleverly sculptured into the course and, combined with the 17 hectares of running water, provide a challenge on every hole. Being such a new course, a signature hole has not yet been confirmed, but the resident pros assure us it’s the par three 13th, with a small dam on the near side and bunker on the far.

Westlake Country Club

Westlake Country ClubCourse Information
18 hole, par 72
Yardage - 5632m

Picturesquely situated at the foot of the Silvermine Mountains overlooking the Indian Ocean and False Bay, Westlake Golf Club is part of the most attractive and popular golf courses at the Cape. It even provides some protection from the notorious southeasterly winds by means some pretty wooded terrain.

Playing the Course
A relatively flat and short parkland layout, the course is renown for its excellent drainage in winter and all round outstanding condition throughout the year. A pine tree lined par four 12th hole doglegs from right to left to set up a tricky approach shot onto the green, making this the signature hole of the course.

Clovelly Country Club

Clovelly Country ClubCourse Information
18 hole, par 72
Yardage - 5902m

Location
Widely regarded as one of the most beautiful golf courses in the Cape region, Clovelly Golf Club lies between Fish Hoek and Kalk Bay on the Cape Peninsula. Mountains covered in Fynbos in the north and sand dunes in the south flank the gently undulating terrain, and from some parts of the course there is a view of the Indian Ocean.

Playing the Course
The course benefits the accurate driver, as the fairways are relatively narrow and require precise tee shots. The par five 9th hole is seen as the trickiest in the entire Cape area, party due to strong southeasterly winds blowing in from the nearby False Bay.

Milnerton Golf Club

Milnerton Golf ClubCourse Information
18 hole, par 72
Yardage - 6139m

Location
Milnerton Golf Club is located right on the Cape Peninsula in one of the windiest spots of the Cape metropolis with breathtaking views of Table Mountain.

Playing the Course
One plays nine holes out from the clubhouse and nine holes back, all the while having impressive views of the ocean and Cape Town. However, being so exposed to the elements makes this one a very challenging to course to play, especially with a regular strong southeasterly wind often blowing at gale force. The terrain is quite flat and it has no trees, so when played on a calm day, can make for a very memorable round.

Atlantic Beach Golf Club

Atlantic Beach Golf ClubCourse Information
18 hole, par 72
Yardage - 5855m (Men), 5513m (Ladies)

Location
A championship links golf course that has maintained a traditional style, Atlantic Beach Golf Club is committed to preserving the flora and fauna of the area and is an excellent place to enjoy a round of golf.

Playing the Course
A steady ocean breeze coming in means that this course is a little more testing that it may seem at first. On a calm day you can play your normal lofted shots and typical style of play, whilst on windy days your style needs to be adapted and low running shots need to be played to keep under the wind. Whatever the weather this is a very easy course to enjoy, and made even more so by its stunning surroundings.

Royal Cape Golf Club

Royal Cape Golf ClubCourse Information
18 hole, par 72
Yardage - 6121m

Location
A championship course in a beautiful setting with wonderful views of Table Mountain, any visitor to Royal Cape Golf Club is guaranteed a memorable experience. It is a true championship course, which has hosted the South African Open ten times, and the South African Amateur Championships eight times.

Playing the Course
The course, which was brought up to USGA standards in 2000 is a fine test of golf and well worthy of its Championship rating. A well maintained flat parkland course with impressive views of the surrounding mountains and a real pleasure to play on. Do not be fooled by the apparent easiness of the course, as the narrow fairways and heavily bunkered greens make this a real test even for the most professional of golfers!
