Print Itinerary

Day 1

Victoria FallsYou will be met at Livingstone Airport and transferred to your hotel on the banks of the Zambezi River, near the mighty Victoria Falls.

Check in, settle in and relax whilst you catch your first glimpses of the magnificent Smoke That Thunders first discovered by Dr. David Livingstone and still one of the greatest natural wonders of the world.

The flow of water over the Victoria Falls is greatest during the wet months (February to June) but the falls are a magnificent sight at any time of year.

Day 2

Today explore on foot the mighty Victoria Falls, offering magnificent views. Then participate in one of the many optional activities such as a helicopter flight over the falls, an elephant-back safari or relax by the swimming pool and enjoy the facilities of your hotel.

In the late afternoon enjoy a Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi River to see hippos, crocodiles and the abundant bird life.

Please note that Zambia visa charges apply on each entry into the country, so if visiting Botswana or Zimbabwe (even if only as a day visit) but flying out from Livingstone Airport, you will need to pay again to reenter Zambia

Day 3

Chobe SafariAt leisure to relax on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River near the Victoria Falls.

Adrenalin seekers can participate in many adventure activities such as canoeing in the gentler rapids above the falls, abseiling or white water rafting in the turbulent gorge below the falls (grade 5), or watch bungi jumping from Victoria Falls Bridge!

Take an optional excursion to view the Victoria Falls from the Zimbabwean side of the river*; enjoy a full day safari to the great Chobe Game Reserve in Botswana*; or simply relax on the banks of the great Zambezi River.

Day 4

Transfer 1-hour by road and ferry to the Botswana border at Kasane. After completing immigration formalities, continue 15-minutes to your game lodge overlooking the Chobe River.

Chobe National Park is Botswana’s premier wildlife reserve and is uniquely situated at the confluence of the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers, where four African countries meet – Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia.

After checking in to your lodge, enjoy your first thrilling safari drive in an open-top game viewing vehicle accompanied by a ranger. Game viewing opportunities should present themselves almost immediately in this vast game sanctuary and hopefully you will see elephant, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, antelope and other river-based wildlife today. Later dine overlooking the river in the atmosphere that only the African bushveld can provide!

Day 5

Rise at dawn to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day and enjoy a thrilling open-top game viewing drive into the great Chobe National Park. This region is home to some of Botswana’s most spectacular wildlife, as well as abundant bird life.

CElephantshobe is home to vast herds of buffalo and elephant, as well as numerous other species which roam in profusion and diversity. During the dry season, vast elephant herds migrate from both south and north to congregate in their thousands along the Chobe River – the largest concentration of elephants in the whole of Africa! Also hope to see lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, hippo, kudu, crocodiles, antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, baboons and many other interesting animals before returning to your lodge for breakfast.

The rest of the morning is free to relax by the lodge swimming pool or enjoy bird watching by the river. Optional Tiger Fishing can also be arranged. In the late afternoon enjoy a game viewing boat ride on the Chobe River to give a completely different wildlife perspective.

After a beautiful African sunset, enjoy the balmy evening and pristine stars of the Milky Way as you have never seen them before – as well as the spectacular Southern Cross.

Children < 12 are not allowed on open top game drives

Day 6

Time permitting, enjoy a final game drive before your 15-minute transfer to the ferry and Zambian border at Kazangula.

After completing immigration formalities, continue 1-hour to Livingstone Airport for your onward flight.

You will be met at Cape Town Airport and transferred to your hotel in this beautiful city, within sight of Table Mountain.

Check into your hotel, settle in and relax in your magnificent surroundings.

Day 7

Cape TownToday is free for independent sightseeing in Cape Town. You will be given a day pass for the red route of the convenient Hop-Off Bus which stops at all Cape Town’s key sights and beaches. Start by ascending Table Mountain by cable car (optional) to enjoy one of the world’s most famous views.

Continue to Camps Bay beach and then explore the shops and many other attractions of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, which is also the centre of Cape Town’s nightlife.

Day 8

Today enjoy a full day small group tour to beautiful Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, where two oceans meet and where you may see see baboons, ostrich and perhaps even dolphins or whales in season (July/November).

Your tour travels through Hout Bay and along spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive, when open, to the Cape Point, returning via naval Simons Town, Fish Hoek and Constantia. A scenic tour of the whole Cape Peninsula, with the optional opportunity of visiting the penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

Day 9

At leisure to explore the beautiful city of Cape Town.

Choose one of the many local activities such as a visit to Robben Island, the infamous prison home of Nelson Mandela (advance booking essential in season); explore the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront or simply relax on golden Camps Bay beach – the choice is yours!

Day 10

Transfer to Cape Town Airport for your onward flight.

You will be met at Mauritius Airport and transferred 1-hour to your beach resort.

Check in to your hotel, settle in and relax on this wonderfully warm Indian Ocean island, surrounded by crystal clear turquoise waters and coral reefs.

Days 11 - 16

Relax and unwind on the white sandy beaches of Mauritius, as you treat yourself to fine food and wonderful entertainment. Enjoy lazy days swimming and snorkelling in the warm turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, or relax on the beach or beside the swimming pool whilst enjoying the many facilities of your luxury resort hotel.

Activities vary by resort, but are likely to include:

  • Sailing & Canoeing
  • Water Skiing
  • Wind Surfing
  • Beach Volley Ball
  • Tennis Courts
  • Table Tennis

Full day Catamaran cruises are very popular for dolphin watching, as well as glass-bottom boats to view the Dolphintropical fish and coral reefs that surround the island. Day Tours include visits to Grand Baie, with its pubs and nightlife and the capital city of Port Louis, where you must expect to bargain vigorously! Also day trips to the south and east of the island.

Golf and Horse Riding are nearby, as well as the opportunity to hire a bicycle to explore the island at your own pace. Mauritius also offers wonderful Scuba Diving, with fully equipped dive centres offering a variety of PADI courses. If you have never tried it before, these clear calm waters offer an ideal location in which to learn to scuba. Deep Sea Fishing for giant marlin or reef fishing for giant trevally also offer thrilling activities.

With its warm tropical weather all year-round, magnificent hotels and wonderful hospitality, Mauritius offers a welcoming and vibrant Indian Ocean Island experience.
