When to go to Colombia

The best time to visit Colombia is during one of the two dry seasons - December to March or July to September.
 
Bogota is situated high in the Andes with a cool, changeable alpine climate. Medellin and the Coffee Region have a pleasantly warm climate. The Amazon, Cartagena and Caribbean coast are hot and humid all year round.
 
The best time to view wildlife is also from December to March or March to September (the dry seasons) when animals search for water. This is also the best time for birding.
 
The best time to visit the Rainbow River is July and August, when the rains have started but the water is not yet very deep. The trails are closed from December to May.
