Day 1
You will be met at Johannesburg Airport by your safari guide and transferred 2-hours through the rural North West Transvaal to the malaria-free Pilanesberg Game Reserve.

After checking into your game lodge, enjoy your first game drive in your guide's vehicle in this Big Five game reserve, uniquely situated inside an extinct volcano. Hopefully see elephants, lions, antelope and a wide variety of other wildlife, before enjoying dinner in your warm African surroundings.
Days 2 To 3
Rise at dawn to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day, and enjoy a thrilling safari in Pilanesberg Game Reserve, travelling with your guide in his closed air-conditioned vehicle. We hope to see several of the Big Five - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino - as well as many other interesting animals before returning to the lodge for breakfast.

The rest of the morning is free to relax at your lodge, before returning for a full afternoon of game viewing with your guide. We hope to see giraffe, wildebeest, hippo, kudu, antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, baboons and many other interesting species. Outstanding bird watching is also guaranteed.

After a beautiful African sunset, enjoy the balmy evening and pristine stars of the Milky Way as you have never seen them before – as well as the spectacular Southern Cross.
Day 4
Time permitting, enjoy some final game viewing in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve before your 2-hour transfer to Johannesburg Airport for your onward flight.

You will be met at Cape Town Airport and transferred to your hotel in this beautiful city, within sight of Table Mountain.

Check in and relax in your magnificent surroundings.
Day 5
Today your guide will collect you for a full day tour of Cape Town.

We start with a short tour to see the key historical and architectural sites of the "Mother City". Weather permitting, we will then ascend Table Mountain by cable car to enjoy one of the world’s most famous views (alternatively we drive up Signal Hill, with its wonderful view point).

We continue to the fishing village of Hout Bay, where we take a boat ride to see the Cape Fur seals at Seal Island.

Afterwards we visit Kirstenbosch Gardens, nestled on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain and regarded as one the most beautiful botanic gardens in the world. Bequeathed to the nation by Cecil John Rhodes, the garden was established 1913. There is an avenue of camphor trees, a beautiful protea and fynbos garden, useful plants garden, sculpture garden and a dell garden as well as a world class collection of indigenous South African flora. Wonderful summer sunset concerts are held in the gardens on Sunday evenings from December to March.

Note: For Seal Island you will be lifted in your manual wheelchair into the boat, so this will not be possible for very heavy guests, nor for power chairs. There is no accessible toilet on the boat.
Day 6
Today your guide will collect you for a full day tour to the beautiful Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.

Enjoy wonderful ocean views as we drive around the Cape Peninsula to naval Simonstown, where we visit the resident penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

We continue to Cape Point where we hope to see baboons, ostrich and perhaps even dolphins or whales in season (July to November). We take an accessible funicular ride up to the Old Lighthouse, before returning via spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive to Cape Town.
Day 7
Enjoy a full day tour of the renowned Stellenbosch Winelands today, travelling through the scenic Franschhoek Valley where a handful of French Huguenot refugees started South Africa’s now famous wine industry. Visit the historic university town of Stellenbosch and several different wine estates of your choice – sampling as you go!

Enjoy lunch at a good restaurant or wine estate (own account), and visit the Cheetah Outreach Project in Somerset West on the way home.
Day 8
Transfer to Cape Town Airport for your flight home.
