An opportunity has arisen to join our small close-knit sales team in Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire - either as a travel agent (Auriel Holidays) or as a tailor-made travel consultant (2by2 Holidays).
We are looking for an individual with a passion for travel, a customer service orientation and a desire to grow their knowledge and experience in our exciting industry. This is a full time office-based position.
Your duties & responsibilities will depend on your experience, but could include:
- Designing tailor-made holidays and/or selling luxury packages to existing and prospective customers
- Confirming reservations with suppliers & checking costings
- Booking flights using consolidators & our GDS system
- Processing customer confirmation documentation & other sales admin
- Providing a high level of after sales service, including trouble shooting
- Attending trade shows (2 to 3 times a year)
- Attending networking meetings & supplier functions
- Keeping up to date with product knowledge
- Social media postings
- Weekend telephone cover once a month
We are looking for someone who is well travelled and will enjoy working in a small office environment - dealing with customers and building relationships to generate repeat business. You need to be well-spoken, as all customer communication is over the telephone and/or by email.
As there are many aspects to the role, it is important that you are able to multi-task, prioritise your workload and pay attention to detail. Experience in selling tailor made holidays to Africa, Latin America or India would be a decided advantage for the 2by2 Holidays position. Knowledge of a GDS flight reservation system such as Amadeus would also be an advantage but not essential, as training will be provided.
Office hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. We are offering a competitive salary & incentive scheme, that will be based on your knowledge and experience.
