Day 2
Today enjoy a full day private tour of the beautiful city of Cape Town.

Weather permitting, we start by ascending Table Mountain by cable car to see one of the world's most famous views (Fast Track cable car ticket included). Alternatively we will drive up Signal Hill).

We then explore the key sights of this beautiful city including enjoying views of the City Hall, Greenmarket Square, Houses of Parliament, Bo Kaap and Sea Point. Entrance fees are included for the Castle of Good Hope and the District Six Museum, but lunch is for your own account.

At the end of the day you will be dropped off at your hotel or at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, with its many shops and restaurants.

Note: Table Mountain cable car is closed for annual maintenance from late July to early August.
Day 3
Today enjoy a full day private tour around the beautiful Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve peninsula.

We drive past the sparkling beaches of Camps Bay, Clifton and Llandudno to Hout Bay, the heart of the local crayfish industry, where we take a short boat trip to Seal Island to view Cape Fur seals.

We then continue via spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive to Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve to enjoy the rugged beauty of this spectacular coastline, with its diverse fauna and flora. Established in 1936 to preserve the indigenous flora of the Cape Peninsula, this 7,750 hectare reserve showcases the diversity in the Cape Floral Kingdom, including the protea, erica and restio families. The fauna of the reserve include eland, Burchell’s zebra, bontebok, Chacma baboon and many smaller mammals and reptiles, as well as over 250 bird species. You may even see dolphins or whales in season (July to November). The funicular up to the Old Lighthouse is included.

On the return journey we pass through naval Simons Town to visit the resident penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

Note: Lunch is for your own account today.
Day 4
Today we recommend an optional full day shared tour to the renowned Stellenbosch Winelands, travelling through the scenic Franschhoek Valley where a handful of French Huguenot refugees started South Africa’s now famous wine industry.

Explore the historic university town of Stellenbosch and several wine estates on this famous wine route, which stretched from Paarl through to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Enjoy a cellar tour and some wine tasting, before returning to Cape Town in the late afternoon.

Note: Lunch is for your own account today. Group size is minimum 2 / maximum 15.

You will be met at Hoedspruit Airport and transferred to your Mpumalanga Game Reserve.

After checking into your lodge, enjoy a thrilling shared game drive in an open-top vehicle accompanied by a lodge ranger, where game viewing opportunities should present themselves almost immediately. Hopefully you will see several species of antelope, zebra, wildebeest and maybe even giraffe today - as well as some of the Big Five - before dining under the stars in the atmosphere that only the African bushveld can provide.
Days 6 To 7
Rise at dawn to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day, as you enjoy a thrilling shared open-top game drive with your lodge ranger. Enjoy magnificent game viewing hoping to see some of the Big Five - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino - as well as many other species, before returning to your lodge for breakfast.

The rest of the morning is free to relax by the swimming pool or enjoy bird watching at the lodge, before setting out again in the late afternoon for another game drive. You can hope to see cheetah, giraffe, hippo, kudu, crocodiles, sable antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, baboons and many other interesting wild animals. With over 500 different bird species including eagles, kingfishers, vultures and storks, outstanding bird watching is also guaranteed. After a beautiful African sunset, enjoy dining under the stars.

Activities vary depending on the size of your resort but usually include water sports such as kayaking, windsurfing and kitesurfing. You can sail in a traditional Arab dhow or enjoy a full day catamaran excursion around the island, with snorkelling opportunities. Be sure to try their refreshing iced hibiscus tea and some of the many spices grown on this island.

The best scuba diving is around Mnemba Island in the northeast and Nungwi in the north. Deep sea game fishing is also based out of Nungwi, where there is a privately owned turtle aquarium.

A variety of day excursions are also on offer including a walking tour of historic Stone Town, a spice island tour, snorkelling at Prison Island where you can see giant tortoises, a cultural tour to Uzi Island and Swahili cookery lessons.

If you would like to see local wildlife, you can visit Jozani Forest in the south of the island, where you can see rare indigenous red colobus monkeys and walk along a mangrove boardwalk to enjoy its birdlife and flora, including some giant baobab trees. There is a Butterfly Centre and Snake Park outside the gate. From late July to mid November you can also take a boat ride to see migrating humpback whales.

Note: Pack water shoes to use on the beach.
