Day 1
You will be met at Perth Airport and transerred to your hotel in this city that is the capital of mineral-rich Western Australia.

Check in and relax after your flight.
Day 2
Get to know Australia’s sunniest state capital on a 2.5-hour shared walking tour through its laneways, arcades, and cultural highlights. Meet your guide at Perth’s historic town hall, the ideal starting point for stories tracing the city’s journey from colonial outpost to creative hub.

Wander past ornate arcades, hidden alleys, and striking street art, as you uncover landmarks such as the State Buildings, London Court, and characterful Wolf Lane. Along the way, hear tales of early European explorers and indigenous leaders like Yagan, gaining fresh insight into Perth’s layered history, architecture and public art.

Covering around 2.5 kilometres at a relaxed pace, round off your tour with a complimentary drink at a trendy local bar, the perfect moment to reflect on the afternoon’s discoveries.

Today you’ll also collect your hire car, ready for the journey ahead.
Day 3
It’s an early start this morning as you begin your journey south. Drive first to Rockingham for a thrilling wildlife encounter – swimming with wild dolphins. Before boarding your shared cruise, you’ll be kitted out with a wetsuit, mask, and snorkel, and given a briefing on dolphin behaviour and in-water etiquette.

Cruise through the sheltered bays and offshore islands of Shoalwater Island Marine Park, scanning the water for sleek dorsal fins alongside little penguins, Australian sea lions, and coastal seabirds. Once dolphins are located, you’ll slip in the water in small, guided groups, floating quietly as these curious creatures arc, spin, and whistle around you. Between swims, relax on deck over a gourmet lunch of fresh local seafood, antipasti, and seasonal fruit.

After this exhilarating experience, continue your journey south to Margaret River and check into your luxurious beachfront hotel, where pristine white sands and the glistening waters of Smiths Bay set the scene for a dreamy stay.

Please note: if you prefer, you can opt instead for the Three Islands Wildlife Snorkel, focusing on encounters with Australian sea lions, dolphins, seabirds, and colourful reef fish.
Day 4
Enjoy a day at leisure to soak up the coastal beauty of Smiths Bay and the Margaret River region. You may choose to spend the day at the resort, drifting between the swimming pool and the soft white sands of Smiths Beach, watching surfers ride the waves.

For more wildlife adventures, you can book a seasonal whale-watching cruise, with departures from Augusta between May and early August, and from Dunsborough from mid-August to mid-November. Wherever you sail from, you’ll be watching for humpback whales and southern right whales, sometimes with their calves, on migration. There’s also the possibility of sighting majestic blue whales, minke whales, and a host of other marine life including long-nosed fur seals, dolphins, white-bellied sea eagles, ospreys, and albatross.

Alternatively, discover why Margaret River is hailed as one of Australia’s premier food-and-wine regions on an optional excursion, calling at boutique cellar doors to sample acclaimed vintages and savouring a gourmet winery lunch among the vines.
Day 5
Drive back up the coast today to the vibrant port city of Fremantle and check into your unique boutique hotel, cleverly crafted from repurposed sea containers in the heart of town.

Spend the afternoon soaking up Fremantle’s laid-back charm, browsing quirky cafes, galleries, museums, and independent boutiques, or strolling along the harbour and out to the South Mole Lighthouse, watching fishing boats and ferries come and go.

Alternatively, delve into Western Australia’s only UNESCO World Heritage Site with a guided tour of Fremantle Prison, tracing stories of convicts, warders and inmates within its imposing limestone walls.
Day 6
Set off today for a full-day adventure to Rottnest Island, a protected nature reserve lying 19-kilometres offshore from Perth, and reached by return ferry from Fremantle.

Equipped with a bike and snorkel, spend the day exploring, pausing at historic sites such as the lighthouse and wartime forts, and dipping into sheltered bays where white-sand beaches meet ancient fringing reef. Delve beneath the surface with your snorkel looking for colourful marine life among the reef, from western blue devil fish and stingrays to jewel-bright nudibranch.

Back on dry land, you may spot marine mammals such as long-nosed fur seals, dolphins, and migrating whales in season. As you explore, keep your cameras ready for encounters with the island’s most famous residents, the irresistibly photogenic and curious quokkas.

Note: Tour includes bike and snorkel hire.
Day 7
Drive to Perth Airport and return your car hire.

Board a flight to Learmonth in the remote northwest of Western Australia. From here, a shared transfer whisks you to your secluded beachside bush camp, tucked between the dunes of Cape Range National Park overlooking the UNESCO-listed Ningaloo Reef.

Settle into your eco-luxury safari tent for two days of barefoot indulgence, sleeping under canvas to the sound of the surf, dining beneath starry skies, reclining in your hammock, and stepping straight from the sand into a kaleidoscopic underwater world of corals and tropical fish.
Day 8
Ningaloo Marine Park shelters an astonishing array of marine life, from dolphins and manta rays to turtles and migrating humpback whales, but its most celebrated visitors are whale sharks, the world’s largest fish. Today, you’ll experience the thrill of swimming with these gentle giants, an encounter that feels both awe-inspiring and humbling.

Travel by coach around the tip of the peninsula to Exmouth, where a well-equipped vessel and experienced crew await. After a detailed briefing and pre-snorkel lesson, you’ll be fitted with all the gear you need before heading out in search of the distinctive spotted silhouettes. Once a whale shark is located, slip quietly into the water and snorkel alongside, dwarfed by its size yet reassured by the fact that these graceful creatures are harmless plankton feeders.

If time permits, there may also be the chance for an additional snorkel over Ningaloo’s vibrant fringing reef. Then, raise a glass of sparkling wine or beer on board to toast this unforgettable day as you head back to shore, keeping your eyes peeled for other marine wildlife, like manta rays, dugongs, dolphins, and seabirds.

Please note whale sharks are usually in the area between March and late October, humpback whales are there from August to late October.
Day 9
Savour one last day in your outback paradise, doing as much or as little as you wish. A curated programme of included experiences allows you to combine one land-based and one reef-based adventure each day.

With the coral just offshore, you might simply step from the sand with mask and snorkel to drift over vibrant coral formations, looking for reef fish, turtles, rays, dugongs, harmless reef sharks, and seabirds. You can also explore the coastline by kayak or stand-up paddleboard, or, in season, watch endangered green and loggerhead turtles gathering to nest or hatch.

Back on dry land, join a guided hike into the ranges and gorges of Cape Range National Park, uncovering Dreamtime stories, desert flora, and the area’s ancient geology as you go. Keep watch for red kangaroos, rock wallabies, and a wealth of reptiles and insects, before ending your stay stretched out in your hammock, stargazing under an ink-black sky untouched by light pollution.
Day 10
Transfer to Learmouth Airport for you flight to Perth Airport and your onward journey home.

If you’re not ready for your Australian wildlife adventure to end, our specialists can help you extend your stay, perhaps with a visit to the wildlife-rich Kangaroo Island or a luxury houseboat safari along the great Murray River.
