Bush Camps open from May to December only. Single friendly. No children < 16..

Day 1
You will be met at Lusaka Airport and transferred to your hotel in the capital city of Zambia.

Check in, settle in and relax under warm blue African skies.
Day 2
Transfer to Lusaka Airport for your light aircraft flight to Mfuwe, where you will be met and transferred to the famous South Luangwa National Park.

Check into your lodge in this renowned wildlife wilderness, before setting out in the late afternoon on an open top game viewing drive with your ranger. Game is most easily sighted in the dry season from April to October, but the park is at its most beautiful in the first half of the year after the rains of the wet season.

Proflight: As you will be flying in a light aircraft, the total dimension of each checked in bag must not exceed 157 cm (i.e. length + width + height). Each person is entitled to 23 kg, with no limitation on the number of bags. You may share your allowance with others booked on the same ticket (or other family members on different reservations, as long as your surnames match). No single piece of checked baggage may weigh more than 32 kg. Due to limited space, hand baggage must be placed in the floor space under the seat in front of you and is strictly limited 30 x 25 x 15 cm in size and 5 kg in weight. Valuables must be carried in your hand luggage.
Day 3
South Luangwa National Park is Zambia’s most famous wildlife park, covering an area in excess of 5,600 square miles (9,050 square kilometres). Sustained by the great Luangwa River the park hosts a wide variety of wildlife, birds and vegetation. The changing seasons add to the park’s richness, ranging from dry bare bushveld in the winter to a lush green in the summer in this pristine wildlife wilderness.

Rise early this morning, when game viewing conditions are at their best, to view wildlife either on foot or from an open top safari vehicle in this great conservation area. With over 60 different animal species, the concentration of game around the Luangwa River and its ox bow lagoons is amongst the highest in Africa, including four of the Big 5 – lion, elephant, buffalo and leopard (sadly rhino has been poached to extinction). Also search for zebra, giraffe, antelope and much more, with leopard sightings being particularly outstanding.

Birding is also outstanding with over 400 different species, including large flocks of cranes. From late August to October you can enjoy the amazing spectacle of thousands of southern carmine bee-eaters nesting along the river banks. From November numerous migratory birds start to arrive to exploit the feeding opportunities presented during the warm rainy season - including red chested cuckoo, hobbies and birds of prey such as steppe buzzards that travel from as far afield as Russia.

Afterwards transfer to your bush camp where you can relax in the heat of the day, before setting out in the late afternoon for either a game drive or walk with your ranger. In the evening relax by the campfire under a balmy African sky and hear the untamed sounds of wildlife all around.
Day 4
Rise early this morning to enjoy the thrill of game viewing from your bush camp inside the pristine South Luangwa National Park.

Afterwards relax at camp in the heat of the day, before venturing out again in the afternoon with your ranger in search of elephants, buffalo, crocodiles, hippo, lion, the elusive leopard and much more.

Activities are jointly decided by guests at camp, but usually involve a shared game drive in the morning and a walking safari in the afternoon. In the evening enjoy relaxing around the campfire.
Day 5
Today enjoy more game viewing in the South Luangwa Valley as you walk to your next bush camp.

Settle into your new camp situated in a different part of this great national park, before enjoying dining around a camp fire under the stars.

Note: You can be transferred between camps, if preferred.
Day 6
Rise early today for more game viewing by shared vehicle and on foot and unspoilt South Luangwa National Park.

Explore this pristine wildlife wilderness, as you search for wildlife both large and small - as well as enjoying outstanding bird watching.
Day 7
After enjoying more early morning game viewing from your bush camp, today we transfer back to your luxury game lodge.

After settling in enjoy an afternoon game drive in search of buffalo, elephants, lions, leopard, giraffe and other wildlife not yet seen.
Day 8
After some early morning game viewing in South Luangwa, transfer to Mfuwe Airport for your light aircraft flight to Lusaka and connecting flight to Livingstone, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel near the mighty Victoria Falls.

Check in and relax whilst you catch your first glimpses of the magnificent "Smoke That Thunders" first discovered by Dr. David Livingstone and still one of the greatest natural wonders of the world. The flow of water over the Victoria Falls is greatest from February to June following the summer rains and is a magnificent sight (but note that the Zambian side of the falls dries up in October and November, when it is better to visit the Zimbabwean side).

A departure tax is payable when flying out of Mfuwe airport (domestic $7 pp / international $45 pp).
Day 9
Today we recommend exploring on foot the mighty Victoria Falls and its rainforest.

Afterwards you can participate in optional activities such as a helicopter flight over the falls or an elephant interaction.

In the late afternoon enjoy an included cruise on the Zambezi River where you may see hippos, crocodiles and abundant birdlife.

Note: We suggest you take your own raincoat for walking in the rainforest, as those on hire are well used. There is also the option of crossing over to the Zimbabwean side of the falls for postcard views (passport and uni-visa required). This is essential in the dry water season.
Day 10
At leisure to relax at your hotel near the magnificent Victoria Falls.

Many optional activities are on offer, such as a helicopter flight over the falls or a game drive in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Adrenalin seekers can participate in adventure activities such as canoeing in the gentler rapids above the falls, abseiling or white water rafting in the turbulent gorge below the falls (grade 5), or bungee jumping from Victoria Falls Bridge.
Day 11
Transfer to Livingstone Airport for your flight home.
