Guatamala has a pleasant climate and can be visited all year round.
The best time to visit Guatemala is during the cool dry season that runs from November to April, but be aware that in the highlands it will get cold at night. In the lowlands around Tikal it is usually hot all year, with humidity increasing from May onwards. Easter is a great time to observe local festivals, but by then it is getting much hotter.
September to October is the peak of the rainy season when you can expect afternoon thundershowers, but after few hours the sun comes out again. If you are combining Guatemala with Belize, we recommend against travelling during these months, as the weather in Belize will be much more disruptive.
