Kaziranga National Park safari holiday packages are often combined with a visit to the hill station at Darjeeling in West Bengal, famous for its distinctive black tea and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, fondly known at the “Toy Train”. Here you can visit the Ghoom monastery or, for a truly authentic cultural experience, venture further afield to Gangtok with its Tibetan Buddhist monasteries.
Kaziranga can also be combined with a visit to the Buddhist country of Bhutan, with monasteries in breathtaking locations such as Tiger’s Nest (Taktsang).
