Bhutan has a changeable climate, as it is situated in the Himalayas with great variations in altitude. The best time to visit Bhutan is either in the spring (March to May) when the valleys come alive with flowers in bloom, or in the autumn (September to November) when the Himalayan peaks are at their most visible. Late October to mid February is the best time to see black-necked cranes.
The monsoon rains fall in the hot and humid months from June to August, which should be avoided.
