When to go to Tigers + Temples of Central India

Central India has a monsoon-influenced sub-tropical climate, with a large variation between summer and winter temperatures.

The best time for a tiger safari in India is the end of the dry season (March and April), when the tigers search out the waterholes and lakes. General travel is best from October to March (the cooler winter months) to avoid the extreme heat of mid-summer and the monsoon rains which fall from June to September, when most tiger reserves are closed.

Birding is best from November to February.
