Explore eSwatini, with options to experience traditional life at a Swazi cultural village, browse unique crafts at Ngwenya Glassworks or enjoy gentle wildlife encounters at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary. Continue to Kruger National Park for an unforgettable self-drive safari where lion, leopard and elephant roam freely. Then fly to Vilanculos on Mozambique’s coast, the gateway to the idyllic Bazaruto Archipelago. Unwind on pristine beaches, snorkel vibrant coral reefs or take a traditional dhow trip.

Day 1
Arrive at Mpumalanga Airport, collect your hire car and drive 3-hours to eSwatini (previously called Swaziland), a small mountain kingdom known for its lovely scenery, crafts and indigenous culture.

After completing border formalities, continue travelling through beautiful mountains and gorges to your lodge.

Note: You will need your passport to enter eSwatini (and possibly a visa).
Days 2 To 3
Today is at leisure to explore more of Eswatini.

We suggest visiting a Swazi Cultural Village to learn more about their local customs, colourful beadwork, basket weaving and other handcrafts (pay entrance fee locally).

Depending on where you are staying, other options include a visit to Ngwenya Glassworks, where you can watch craftsmen at work, or a day visit to Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary whose grassy plains are home to game such as antelope and zebra, as well as abundant birdlife.

Note: If  you wish to see rhino, we suggest you include an overnight stay at Mkhaya Game Reserve in  your itinerary.
Day 4
Today drive 3-hours through the mountains of eSwatini and across the South African border to your lodge situated near the entrance to the world famous Kruger National Park.

Check into your lodge, settle in and relax in the atmosphere that only the African bushveld can provide.
Days 5 To 6
Today is devoted to self drive game viewing in the Kruger National Park (pay entrance fee locally). We recommend setting off early each morning as the camp gates open after sunrise, to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day.

Explore the famous Kruger National Park, which offer magnificent game viewing opportunities and the highest concentration of lion in the whole of Africa. Hope to see several of the Big Five - Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino - as well as many other species.

With nearly 150 different species of mammals and over 100 species of reptiles in the Kruger National Park, you can hope to see cheetah, giraffe, hippo, kudu, crocodiles, sable antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, baboons, wild dogs and many other interesting animals. With over 500 different bird species including eagles, kingfishers, vultures and storks, outstanding bird watching is also guaranteed.

Return to your lodge in the late afternoon and after a beautiful African sunset, enjoy the balmy evening and pristine stars of the Milky Way as you have never seen them before – as well as the spectacular Southern Cross.

Note: You will need your passport to enter Kruger Park. Vehicles are not allowed to drive off-road in any national park in South Africa.
Day 7
Drive 1-hour to Mpumalanga Airport for your onward flight.

You will be met at Vilanculos Airport in Mozambique and transferred to your beach lodge overlooking the warm Indian Ocean, with its vast unspoilt beaches.

Check in, settle in and relax in your sub-tropical surroundings.
Days 8 To 9
At leisure to relax at your lodge on the shores of the sparkling turquoise Indian Ocean, overlooking a pristine white sandy beach that stretches for miles and miles.

Activities vary by lodge but usually include windsurfing, kite flying, ocean ski paddling, horse riding and catamaran sailing. Jet skiing is available near some lodges and scuba diving, island snorkelling trips and deep sea game fishing, in waters considered to be the best for marlin in the world, can also be arranged.

You can watch fishermen bringing in their catch, see turtles and migrating humpback whales in season (July to November) and take a local tuk-tuk to visit the small fishing town of Vilanculos. As Mozambican seafood is delicious, this is the place to indulge in delicious lobster, crab, game fish and garlic (or peri-peri) prawns.
Day 10
This morning we suggest setting off early by motor boat (around 08.00) on a snorkelling excursion to Two Mile Reef, situated in the channel between spectacular Bazaruto and Benguerra islands.

Afterwards enjoy an unforgettable beach barbeque on Bazaruto island, followed by a walk up the pristine sand dunes of neighbouring Benguerra Island, before returning by boat to Vilanculos around 16.45.
