Day 1
You will be met at Dar Es Salaam Airport and transferred to your hotel.

Check in, settle in and relax in your warm East African surroundings.
Day 2
Transfer to Dar Es Salaam Airport for your light aircraft flight to Nyerere National Park, previously known as Selous Game Reserve, the largest wildlife reserve in Africa.

Check into your safari lodge in this magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its amazing diversity of wildlife and undisturbed nature, before enjoying a late afternoon game drive.

Note: As you will be flying in a light aircraft you must pack soft sports bags only, as rigid suitcases will not fit into the luggage pods. The baggage allowance (which includes your hand luggage) is strictly enforced for safety reasons.
Days 3 To 4
Today enjoy early morning and late afternoon shared game viewing in the vast and little visited Nyerere National Park.

Originally named after the famous hunter and early conservationist, Frederick Courtney Selous, this great game reserve covers an area of over 21,000 square miles (54,000 square km) - making it larger than Switzerland and four times the size of the Serengeti.

As a result, many game species can be found here in greater numbers than in any other game park in Africa - including over 70% of Tanzania's elephants. Hippo, buffalo and crocodiles are abundant and lion, hyena, wild dog and rhino can also be seen. Also gnu, hartebeest, kudu, sable, eland, reedbuck, bushbuck, waterbuck, warthog, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, leopard and cheetah. There are over 350 different bird species too, including the bataleur eagle, and walking safaris are permitted.

Note: Please be prepared for some rough roads.
Day 5
After some early morning game viewing, transfer to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to remote Ruaha Game Reserve - the second largest wildlife reserve in Tanzania.

Check into your safari lodge in this wildlife wilderness and enjoy a late afternoon game drive in this pristine reserve.
Days 6 To 7
Today is devoted to shared game viewing in the previously inaccessible Ruaha Game Reserve, the second largest wildlife reserve in Tanzania.

Ruaha is a permanent hunting ground for lions, jackals, hyenas, cheetah and rare wild dogs which prey on zebras and antelope, with both the stunning roan and sable antelope found here as well as greater and lesser kudu. There are also thousands of elephants and buffalo and vast herds of gazelle, in beautful surroundings.

With over 450 bird species, including Eurasian migrating birds which flock to Ruaha twice a year (March/April and October/November), outstanding bird watching is also guaranteed.
Day 8
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Ruaha, before your light aircraft flight to Dar Es Salaam.

You will be met at Dar Es Salaam Airport and transferred 2-hours towards Bagamoyo, with onward boat transfer to your lodge on the beautiful Swahili Coast.

Formerly the capital of German East Africa, Bagamoyo was at the centre of the important trade route that linked Lake Tanganyika with the sea. Its name means "throw down your heart" as slaves were imprisoned here before being sold in the markets of Zanzibar - along with salt, ivory, fish and many other commodities. Many famous European explorers, including Henry Morton Stanley and David Livingstone, started and ended their trips here.

Note: As you will be flying in a light aircraft you must pack soft sports bags only, as rigid suitcases will not fit into the luggage pods. A baggage allowance of 15 kg (which includes your hand luggage) is strictly enforced for safety reasons.
Days 9 To 12
At leisure to relax on the sunny golden Indian Ocean beaches of your lodge on the warm Swahili Coast.

Enjoy lazy days relaxing by the swimming pool or snorkelling over coral reefs in the sparkling turquoise waters. Visit local historical sites, explore the lagoons and mangrove swamps by kayak, or simply unwind and watch the local fishing fleet bringing in the catch for dinner each evening.
Day 13
Today transfer 2-hours by boat and road to Dar Es Salaam Airport for your flight home.
