Day 1
You will be met at Cancun Airport by your guide and transferred 2-hours to the 'magic town' of Valladolid.

This small town is known for its Spanish colonial buildings, including the 16th century Convent of San Bernadino of Siena, with its ornate wooden altarpiece and the baroque San Gervasio Cathedral.

Note: There is a 1-hour time difference between Valladolid and Cancun.
Day 2
Today enjoy a half day excursion, driving 1-hour from Valladolid to Chichen Itza (meaning 'Entrance to the Witches Well').

Chichen Itza is the most visited Mayan ruins in all of Mexico. It was the focal point of the Northern Mayan empire from AD 600 until AD 1200 and had an extremely diverse population, as a result of which you can see a wide variety of architectural styles at this site.

The most spectacular pyramid is El Castillo with its rich cosmological symbolism - all four sides have 365 steps (number of days in a solar year), 52 rectangles (years in a Mayan century) and 18 terraces (months of their religious calendar). Other structures include the enormous Ballcourt, the Observatory, Temple of a Thousand Columns, Kukulcán Temple, Warrior’s Temple, Convent of the Nuns, El Mercado (market place) and the Sacred Cenote (pool) where human sacrifices were carried out.

After returning to Valladolid, the balance of your day is free to wander through the streets of this colourful city.
Day 3
This morning transfer 2-hours to Playa del Carmen on the spectacular Mayan Riviera.

Here you will board the 45-minute ferry to Cozumel, a small island close to the mainland that offers some of the best snorkelling and diving opportunities along this coastline. Check into your hotel and relax surrounded by the warm turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Note: Your driver will only speak Spanish.
Days 4 To 7
At leisure to relax at your resort or on a quiet white sandy beach on Cozumel - Mexico's largest Caribbean island, which is only 30-miles long and 10-miles wide (48 km x 16 km).

The azure blue waters of Arrecifes de Cozumel National Park surround the island, with the Cozumel Reef forming part of the Great Mayan Reef (Mesoamerican Barrier Reef) that stretches from the tip of the Yucatán Peninsula to the islands off the coast of Honduras, making it the second largest coral reef in the world. Hundreds of species of fish and many endangered and protected marine animals are found here – including loggerhead, leatherback, green, hawksbill and Olive Ridley sea turtles, and West Indian manatees – making this a paradise for snorkelling and diving. It is possible to swim with whale sharks from June to September.

Deep sea fishing can be arranged from the harbour with barracuda, mahi mahi and trigger fish being particularly plentiful. You can catch tuna all year round and white and blue marlin and sailfish from March to July.

Many other optional activities are on offer including daily catamaran cruises with snorkelling, 'helmet-diving', underwater submarine rides and jeep tours of the island. You can visit the 2,500-acre Punta Sur Ecological Park and Celerain Lighthouse in the south, where you can snorkel off the island's most beautiful beach and see tropical birds, crocodiles, sea turtles and exotic flowers. You can also visit Chankanaab Beach Adventure Park, the San Gervasio ruins, Cozumel Pearl Farm and the Mayan Cacao Company. The capital of the island, San Miguel, is a cruise port so can be very busy during the day, but in the evening you can stroll along the promende and enjoy a spectacular sunset.
Day 8
Transfer to Cozumel Harbour for the 45-minute ferry to Playa Del Carmen.

Here you will be met and transferred 1.5-hours to Cancun Airport for your flight home.

Note: Your driver will only speak Spanish.
