Day 1
You will be met at Johannesburg Airport and transferred 5-hours to Mpumalanga - "the place where the sun rises", driving eastwards through Witbank, before dropping several hundred feet into the subtropical Lowveld.

Check into your lodge situated near the entrance to the world famous Kruger National Park and relax in the atmosphere that only the African bushveld can provide.
Day 2
This morning we visit a local Elephant Park to experience a very special close-up encounter, where for 1-hour you can interact with and feed one of these gentle giants.

In the afternoon enjoy a shared open-top game drive into the Kruger National Park with a local ranger.

Note: There are no accessible toilets at the Elephant Sanctuary.
Days 3 To 4
Today is devoted to game viewing in the Kruger National Park. As you will have the services of a private driver/guide, you will have the flexibility of discussing preferred routings and travelling times with him each day. We recommend setting off early each morning as soon as the camp gates open after sunrise, to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day.

Explore the famous Kruger National Park, which offer magnificent game viewing opportunities and the highest concentration of lion in the whole of Africa. Hope to see several of the Big Five - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino - as well as many other species, before stopping at a picnic spot or rest camp for lunch (own account) and more game viewing in the afternoon.
All game drives will be taken with your guide in his open top vehicle, although if you have upper body strength and can transfer into the front seat of a game viewing vehicle.

With nearly 150 different species of mammals and over 100 species of reptiles in the Kruger National Park, you can hope to see cheetah, giraffe, hippo, kudu, crocodiles, sable antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, baboons, wild dogs and many other interesting animals. Outstanding bird watching is also guaranteed, with over 500 different bird species including eagles, kingfishers, vultures and storks.
Return to your lodge in the late afternoon and after a beautiful African sunset, enjoy the balmy evening and pristine stars of the Milky Way as you have never seen them before – as well as the spectacular Southern Cross.

Note: Vehicles are not allowed to drive off-road in any national park in South Africa. If you are tall and remain in your chair for your game drives, please be aware there will be some restrictions on your viewing due to the height of the windows in the accessible vehicle. There are no restrictions if you transfer into one of the regular seats. Children < 6 are not allowed on open top game drives.
Day 5
Transfer to Mpumalanga Airport for your onward flight.

You will be met at Cape Town Airport and transferred to your hotel in this beautiful city, within sight of Table Mountain.

Check in and relax in your magnificent surroundings.
Day 6
Today enjoy a full day private tour of the beautiful city of Cape Town.

Weather permitting, we start by ascending Table Mountain by cable car to see one of the world's most famous views (alternatively we will drive up Signal Hill). We then drive around the city to see the key sights including the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, City Hall, Greenmarket Square, Houses of Parliament, Bo Kaap, Castle of Good Hope, District Six and Sea Point.

After lunch (own account) we continue to beautiful Kirstenbosch Gardens, nestled on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain and regarded as one the most beautiful botanic gardens in the world. Bequeathed to the nation by Cecil John Rhodes, the garden was established 1913. There is an avenue of camphor trees, a beautiful protea and fynbos garden, useful plants garden, sculpture garden and a dell garden as well as a world class collection of indigenous South African flora. Wonderful summer sunset concerts are held in the gardens on Sunday evenings from December to March.

Note: Table Mountain cable car is closed for annual maintenance from late July to early August.
Day 7
Today your guide will collect you for a full day tour to the beautiful Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.

Enjoy wonderful ocean views as we drive around the Cape Peninsula to naval Simonstown, where we visit the resident penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

We continue to Cape Point where we hope to see baboons, ostrich and perhaps even dolphins or whales in season (July to November). We take an accessible funicular ride up to the Old Lighthouse, before returning via spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive to Hout Bay and Cape Town.
Day 8
Enjoy a full day tour through the renowned Stellenbosch Winelands, travelling through the scenic Franschhoek Valley where a handful of French Huguenot refugees started South Africa’s now famous wine industry.

We visit the historic university town of Stellenbosch and several different wine estates – sampling as we go.

After lunch at a good restaurant or wine estate (own account), enjoy some final wine tasting before we return to Cape Town.
Day 9
Transfer 2-hours today from Cape Town to the small seaside town of Hermanus.

Check in to your hotel and enjoy the natural beauty of the coastline. From July to November, southern right and humpback whales come here to breed and this is considered the best location for land-based Whale Watching in the world. Once severely endangered, these magnificent creatures of the deep are now breeding successfully in the area due to a major international conservation effort.
Days 10 To 11
In season, enjoy Whale Watching from the cliffs of Hermanus.

You can also explore this small town independently, with its open-air craft market in season and coastal path with indigenous fynbos and bird life.
