Uganda straddles the equator and has a warm equatorial climate, with some rainfall all year round.
The best time to visit Uganda is during one of the two drier seasons - June to October, which is peak season as it is cooler, or December to February when it is much hotter.
March to May (the 'long rains') should be avoided, as heavy downpours can make road travel and gorilla trekking very difficult. November and December (the 'short rains') can also be quite wet.
Birding is good all year round, but best from June to October.
